PROFILE
A graduate in management accounting at the University of Quebec in Montreal, Christian Babbini has more than thirty (30) years of experience in the development and improvement of cost and budget systems as well as in BI.
Co-founder of DECIMAL, Mr. Babbini puts all his energy into capitalizing on his knowledge and expertise in the development of cost management software solutions. Mr. Babbini is recognized for being a facilitator among the teams in place within the framework of the mandates entrusted to him.
Christian has greatly participated in the advancement of performance management in Canada and more particularly in the advancement of strategic cost management. Member of CAM-I, an international research group in advanced management in the United States, Christian will serve there for around ten years, mainly on the interest group relating to performance management. He will also teach courses on performance measurement as part of the professional development of management accountants. In 2010, Christian was awarded the title of entrepreneur of the year by the Montreal section of the Order of CMA of Quebec. This title rewards the efforts of CMAs in the Montreal region who have stood out over the past years at the professional level.
Throughout his career, Christian is also asked to participate as a guest speaker in various seminars and conferences. He has also authored several articles on the development of cost management and operational systems. In November 2011, he received the honorary title of Fellow by CMA Canada for his contribution to the advancement of management accounting and the influence of the profession.
CAREER SUMMARY
From the start of his career, Mr. Babbini has held two main positions: Responsible for the development of the activity-based cost management software solution, “the Decimal Suite” implemented in several government organizations and in the private sector, and strategic consultant with national and international companies in the implementation of costing and operational solutions.
By co-founding DECIMAL in the 1990s, Mr. Babbini wanted to develop management solutions and decision support tools including activity-based cost management and activity-based budgeting. Thirty years later, Christian founded a new company, CPATECH.
Since then, Mr. Babbini has put his expertise at the service of multitudes of government and private organizations in different sectors of activity such as shared service centers, hospitals, ministries, manufacturing, distribution and financial companies.
Having accumulated knowledge and expertise for more than thirty years, in 2020, Mr. Babbini went back to the drawing board and designed a brand new costing software (GenE). Taking advantage of all the new technologies available as well as a highly secure environment, Christian was able to meet his main objectives, namely the simplicity and accessibility of such a product.
For over thirty years, Jonathan has been developing cutting-edge solutions for many different industries. Back on his own under the Bibadum banner, Jonathan has worked with Christian for over twenty years on the development of various products specialized in costing and budgeting.
